To sign "Legal" in American Sign Language (ASL), follow these steps:                                                            

1. Form a letter 'L' with your dominant hand by raising your index finger.

2. Place the right "L" hand on the left flat-hand palm, then gently lift it off an inch or two, move it downward an inch or two.
